◇ Saitama Seibu Lions vs. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Game 24 (13th, Belluna Dome)
A super play burst forth from Saitama Seibu Lions player Manaya Nishikawa.
In the top of the 6th inning, the lead-off batter Reyes hit a ball that attacked left-center field. Nishikawa ran in a straight line from his center fielder position toward the wall, and finally jumped while grabbing the wall's pole. He extended his arm to the highest point and managed to catch the ball in his glove.
The stadium was in an uproar over this big play, and even the batter Reyes took off his helmet to praise him. Last season, Nishikawa won his first Golden Glove Award thanks to his natural speed and strength at the edge of the play. This season, he has been left out of the starting line-up in many games due to a batting slump, but his defense remains strong.
