◇ Chiba Lotte Marines vs. Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Game 25 (1st, Zozo Marine Stadium)

Chiba Lotte Marines' Koki Yamaguchi hit his 34th solo Home Run.

In the bottom of the 8th inning trailing 0-3, Koki Yamaguchi entered his 4th plate appearance as the lead-off hitter. On the 5th pitch thrown by pitcher Mizuki Hori at a 3-1 count, he swung through an outside fastball, and the ball flew into the center-field batter's eye.

Koki Yamaguchi has achieved a major breakout, recording 30 Home Runs, a feat not seen by a Japanese player in the club for 40 years. In August, he won his first "Taiju Life Monthly MVP Award" with a monthly batting average of .302 and 10 Home Runs. We will see how much he can increase his numbers in the remaining 5 games.

◇ Koki Yamaguchi's Comment
"I hit a fastball. I was able to get power by touching Kaku-san (Kakunaka) before hitting. Kaku-san said, 'I don't have that much power left; if I did, I wouldn't be retiring.'"
