Yuki Nomura of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters hit his 7th grand slam.

He started starting line-up as the "number 5 batter and left fielder." In the first inning, he got two hit and a bases loaded to create a bases-loaded situation with Walk, and came up to bat for the first time. With a 0-1 count, he connected with a low, inside breaking ball thrown by opposing pitcher Yugo Maeda, sending the ball into the left field stands for a go-ahead bases loaded slam, his 7th of the season.

Prior to the game, Nomura had a favorable record against Fukuoka Softbank Hawks, with a batting average of .400 and an OPS of 1.438. He delivered the best possible result for the team with his signature hawk hunting.
