On September 27, in the 26th round of the farm regular season between the Orix Buffaloes and Hiroshima held at Osaka City Shinkin Bank Stadium, the Orix Buffaloes secured a 2-1 comeback win.
Orix Buffaloes starting pitcher Riku Miyaguni gave up a triple with two outs in the first inning, but struck out the following batter swinging. After that, he efficiently recorded outs and left the mound after three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs. The second pitcher, Kento Inui, retired the side in order in the top of the fourth, but surrendered a go-ahead RBI infield hit in the top of the fifth.
The lineup was held to just one hit through four innings against the opponent's starter, Tanao Saito. In the bottom of the fifth, they were unable to capitalize on a two-out, second-base opportunity created by an error. However, in the bottom of the sixth, after Shota Hiranuma 's hit and other plays against the second pitcher, Takumi Kurohara, put runners on second and third with no outs, Haruto Mikata delivered a two-run timely hit to successfully complete the comeback.
In the top of the seventh, the fourth pitcher, Shota Abe, retired the opposition on 10 pitches. Issei Watanabe in the top of the eighth and Raiku Katayama in the top of the ninth protected the one-run lead. The third pitcher, Kento Kawase, who recorded three consecutive strikeouts after facing a no-out, second and third base crisis in the top of the sixth, became the winning pitcher.
