◇Fukuoka Softbank vs Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Round 23 (8th, MIZUHO PayPay Dome)

Fukuoka Softbank's Ukyo Shuto hit a running grand slam.

In the bottom of the 8th inning with the score at 4-1, two more runs were added through Tatsuru Yanagimachi 's RBI hit and other plays, bringing Shuto to his fifth at-bat with two outs and the bases loaded. On the third pitch thrown by pitcher Shoma Kanemura, he swung through an inside fastball, and the ball hit the right field wall directly. While the ball bounced back strongly and rolled around the outfield ground, Shuto used his great speed to return to home plate.

Shuto's hit was the 8th in NPB history and the first in the 21st century, the first since Hiroki Kokubo (current Fukuoka Softbank first-team manager) in 1999, 27 years ago. Shuto showed great performance in both offense and defense, marking his 3rd two-run home run of the season to take the lead in his first at-bat and making two jumping catches in defense.
