A player from Tohoku Rakuten Eagles YG Yasuda hit a two-run, three-run homer.
YG Yasuda, starting as the “No. 2 batter for DH” for the first time in six games, stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the third inning, immediately after his team had fallen behind by four runs. Atsuki Muto he stepped up to the plate for his second at-bat with no outs and runners on first and third, following a string of hits by Akira Shigenaga a series of hits put runners on first and third with no outs, and he stepped up to the plate for his second at-bat. On the first pitch from opposing starter Mitsunari Takahashi pitcher—a low fork—he sent the ball into the middle deck of the right-field stands. It was his first home run in about three months, since the April 11 game against Orix Buffaloes, and it cut the deficit to one run.
YG Yasuda has also been making his presence felt at the plate, including hitting a hit in his first at-bat of the first inning.
